When transmitting electromagnetic energy from Oil immersed transformer, it always causes wear and tear

When the power P2 of the Oil immersed transformer is equivalent to the input power P1, the transformer will not cause all losses. But in fact, this type of transformer does not exist. The key types of wear and tear include copper loss and iron loss.

Oil immersed transformer

Copper loss refers to the wear and tear caused by the number of turns in a transformer coil. When the current quantity varies according to the number of turns of the coil, a portion of the electromagnetic energy is converted into thermal energy and dissipated. Because electromagnetic coils are generally made up of copper wire wound with an insulating layer, they are called copper losses.

The iron damage of Transformer manufacturer includes two levels. One is hysteresis loss. When an AC circuit is based on a transformer, the orientation and size of the magnetic induction lines passing through the ferrite core of the transformer also change, causing the internal molecular structures of the core to rub against each other, releasing thermal energy and dissipating some electromagnetic energy. This is hysteresis loss.

The other is eddy current loss, which occurs during the operation of box-type transformer. When a magnetic induction line crosses the core of a transformer, it will cause an induced electromotive force at a level perpendicular to the magnetic induction line. This electric current creates a closed circuit and generates an electric field, which forms a vortex shape, hence it is called a vortex. The appearance of eddy currents causes the iron core to become hot, consuming kinetic energy, and this type of loss is called eddy current loss.

The high efficiency of a transformer is closely related to its output power level. Generally, the higher the output power, the smaller the loss to power ratio, and the higher the efficiency. On the contrary, the lower the output power, the lower the efficiency.
