Do you know what the DC voltage of an pad mounted is
2025-10-22 16:51:13

This issue involves the working principle and characteristics of transformers. pad mounted are electrical devices that utilize the principle of electromagnetic induction to convert and transmit electrical energy. It is mainly composed of iron core, coils (windings), etc., and transfers energy between the primary and secondary sides through an alternating magnetic field.

The DC voltage of distribution cabinet refers to the DC voltage applied on the primary or secondary side of the transformer. Due to the fact that transformers are designed based on the working principle of alternating current, their iron cores and coils are designed to optimize the transmission of alternating current signals. Therefore, when a direct current voltage is applied to the transformer, its performance may be affected.

Specifically, when a DC voltage is applied to the primary side of an High voltage transformer, a constant magnetic field is generated in the iron core. This constant magnetic field will cause the iron core to saturate, resulting in a decrease in the magnetic permeability of the transformer and a decline in its performance. In addition, DC voltage may also cause an increase in eddy current losses in the transformer coils, further affecting the efficiency of the transformer.

Therefore, in general, we do not recommend directly applying DC voltage to transformers. If DC voltage testing is required on a transformer, a specialized DC voltage tester should be used and relevant operating procedures should be followed to avoid damage to the transformer.
